COMING SOON!

Greetings loyal and new followers of this blog. I am just starting out in this blogging world and have a lot to learn so please be patient. I do this for free and my learning curve is steep. But soon there will be lots of new things on this blog, including: links for visual artists, musicians and composers; info on nature/environmental arts sites and residencies; links to books on grant-writing and residencies; a larger and more user friendly template; better labeling; a button to make donations (so I can buy socks or a tube of paint or perhaps a sturdy umbrella); podcasts; a featured residency of the week or month with photos; interviews with arts professionals and more. Oh. There will be a place for "Swagville." You'll be able to purchase items to shamelessly promote this little site. So thanks for your patience and your support and all the emails I get from my orginal listserve peeps who have been very appreciative. Please feel free to leave comments and if you have any special requests about what you'd like to see on this site, email me (click on the upper right hand corner where it says "email me!". And please do two things if you can: whenever you come to my site, click on all those little google ads. That way, in about two hundred years, I'll be able to buy a small country. The other request is: if you know any other sites that would just love to list this blog, such as your MFA program, a local arts org., or some other site, please pass it on. Thank you so much. And remember...if you have trouble accessing any of the websites I list or you have problems with a place, please give me feedback. I can't check everything. My clone is in the repair shop right now and won't be back till the next millenium. Cheers, Mirabee

Welcome to Mira's List

This blog provides information on upcoming grants, fellowships and residencies for artists, writers, composers, and media artists. It is for serious professionals only, from emerging to mid-career to established. I also publish information for graduate students from time to time. However, I do not publish information on exhibition or publishing opportunities, nor do I advertise artist retreats and workshops that charge money. At least that is my current policy. For more info on where to exhibit or publish, please see my links section which I try to periodically update. I sift through hundreds of search engines and websites to find opportunities for YOU dear artist. In return, I ask you to pass the information along to those who need it. Also, since this is a free blog, I don't always have the time to weed carefully through everything. If you find a grant or website or residency that is not up-to-date, is dodgy in some way, or is no longer in existence, please let me know! Also, if you stay somewhere at one of the residencies I suggest and have a good experience, I want that feedback too. Please check my FAQs at the top right side bar if you have questions before starting your search. Best wishes and happy hunting!
