Hi Melissa. Thanks for writing! Great question. Actually, most of the Italian residencies let spouses come. There is one in Bellagio, Italy that allows spouses and another, the Bogliasco one near Genoa that I think does. Click on the label to the right that says "Italy" and you will get that posting with the website info. The best thing to do though is to decide where you want to go, then go to

I have passed it on to many friends. <BR/>I would like to add to the previous comment and ask about residencies for visual artists that allow the artist to attend with spouse and children. I know that the American Academy in Rome offers such an option, and I am curious to know if you are aware of others....<BR/>Thank you!
